Chris Mitchell has a diverse and extensive work experience in various finance and executive roles. Chris started their career at Banc of America Securities in 1993, where they served as Vice President in Leveraged Finance for ten years. Chris then joined The Carlyle Group in 2003 as a Carlyle Investment Consultant, focusing on high-yield investments. In 2004, Mitchell became a Principal at Banc of America Securities, where they played a vital role in a $750 million proprietary investment fund. Chris was responsible for making direct private investments into consumer and media companies.

In 2009, Mitchell founded TMG Partners, a specialized private capital investment firm that focuses on consumer goods companies, particularly in food and beverage, pet products, home decor, and luxury lodging. In this role, they provided financing solutions and strategic advice to help companies achieve their goals.

In 2013, Mitchell joined Chicken Soup for the Soul as the Executive Vice President of Chicken Soup for the Soul, LLC (Parent Company) and CEO of Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food. Chris held these positions until 2019 when they took on the role of CFO for Chicken Soup for the Soul, LLC (Parent Company).
