Katherine Bates Oly

Katherine Bates OLY is a distinguished figure in the cycling community with extensive experience in management, media, and event hosting. Currently serving as the Executive Director and General Manager of the Amy Gillett Foundation since June 2024, Katherine also co-hosts The Wheelhouse Cycling, a platform providing insightful and engaging cycling content alongside journalist Joel Spreadborough. As Head of Operations and Director at Chicks Who Ride Bikes Pty Ltd, Katherine brings a wealth of knowledge from previous roles including Commissioner at Sport Australia and Director at Wollongong 2022 Ltd. Katherine's expertise is further evidenced by experience as a cycling commentator and event MC at major international events, including the Olympics and Tour De France. An alumnus of Southern Cross University with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting, Katherine's contributions to cycling extend beyond performance to include leadership and advocacy within the sport.
