Janet Olson

Janet Olson is an accomplished leader in architecture and urban planning, currently serving as a Member at Chief since February 2021, an organization dedicated to empowering women in senior leadership roles. Prior to this, Janet held the position of Community & Civic Principal at HDR from November 2022 to August 2024. Previous experience includes significant roles at GREC Architects, where Janet progressed from Project Architect to Principal over an 18-year span, and at Gonzalez Hasbrouck as a Project Architect. Janet began their career at Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP as an Arch II and gained early experience as an intern at UNL Landscape Services and TR Hamzah and Yeang in Kuala Lumpur. Janet holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, completed in 1997.
