Kathy Levene has extensive work experience in the field of social work and children's mental health. Kathy began their career at CAMH, where they worked as a Social Worker from 1965 to 1967. Kathy then moved on to the Earlscourt Child Guidance Clinic in London, England, working as a Social Worker from 1967 to 1969. Next, Kathy worked at Hincks Dellcrest as a clinical social worker from 1969 to 1975. Kathy then joined Ryerson University Faculty of Social Work as an Instructor from 1977 to 1979. Finally, Kathy served as the Director of Children's Mental Health Services at the Child Development Institute from 1979 onwards.
Kathy Levene holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of Manitoba. Their educational journey continued with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, specializing in Child and Family, from the University of Toronto, where they attended from 1963 to 1965. Later, in the years 1985 to 1987, Kathy obtained a Diploma in Social Work Research from the University of Toronto.

Child Development Institute (CDI), an accredited children’s mental health agency in Toronto, is a groundbreaker in developing innovative programming. They offer evidence-based programs for children ages 0-12 and youth ages 13-18, and their families across four streams: Early Intervention Services, Family Violence Services, the Integra Program and Healthy Child Development.
