Joan Aschoff, Psy.D has a strong background in executive leadership roles in the fields of behavioral health and medical management. From 1995 to 1998, they worked as an Outpatient Supervisor at The Holman Group. From 1998 to 2005, they served as the Director of Operations at PacifiCare Behavioral Health, overseeing a large team and managing various aspects of clinical operations. In 2006 and 2007, they held the position of Vice President of Clinical Operations at UnitedHealth Group, where they managed a staff of over 150 employees and handled all clinical operations for millions of members. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as the Vice President, Lead Medical Director at Unum. Since 2014, Joan has been with the Child & Family Center, initially serving as the Executive Vice President and later as the President/Chief Executive Officer. Presently, they are semi-retired as of November 2022.
Joan Aschoff, Psy.D, pursued their education in the field of psychology and specifically focused on clinical psychology. Joan obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, during the academic years of 1984 to 1987. Following that, they enrolled at Indiana State University, where they completed their Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) between 1987 and 1992, specializing in Clinical Psychology.

Child & Family Center
Serving the community since 1976, Child & Family Center believes in strengthening families today for a stronger community tomorrow. Each week, we provide a variety of programs and services to hundreds of children and their families, through a full spectrum of care including individual, group, family and school-based counseling, parenting groups/support as well as intensive in-home services. With our main campus located in the Santa Clarita Valley, we also serve the Antelope Valley and have a confidential Domestic Violence shelter. As a data-informed and community driven organization, we have evolved to meet the growing needs in our community for counseling, education and supportive services that support the entire family. Today, the Center serves thousands of children and adults annually with a comprehensive range of prevention, early intervention, evaluation and therapeutic services including early childhood mental health counseling, school based services, home based services, crisis intervention, parenting classes, and substance abuse recovery programs. Our staff and team are comprised of dedicated and compassionate psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed (and those working towards licensure) clinicians, including LCSWs and LMFTs, family and child counselors and case managers, interns and teachers.
