Children's Academy
Hannah Dornbush is an experienced educator with a strong focus on special education. Currently serving as a Special Education Teacher with the NYC Department of Education since November 2023, and previously at Children's Academy and Manhattan Star Academy, Hannah has honed skills in supporting diverse learners. In addition, Hannah holds the position of Head Counselor at Camp Danbee, overseeing activities for children aged 7 to 11 and managing a team of counselors. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Education from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, both emphasizing early childhood special education. Previous roles include a Head Teacher at Beth Shalom Early Childhood Center and various positions within educational settings, accumulating significant hands-on experience in special education.
Children's Academy
The Children’s Academy is an integrated, multidisciplinary K-12th grade school for children with speech and language delays. We strongly believe in the academic potential of all children and we strive to ensure that our students realize their full capabilities. The goal of the Children’s Academy is to empower each student by combining a rigorous academic curriculum with individualized support to nurture the child’s strengths and re-mediate areas of weakness.
