Brenda McCormick

CFO & SVP at Children’s Minnesota

Brenda McCormick joined the organization in August 2019, and is responsible for the leadership, direction and performance of all finance functions, including health information management, accounting, cost accounting, treasury, revenue management, payer contracting and strategic pricing, financial planning and analysis.

Ms. McCormick’s background includes strategic planning, controllership, mergers and acquisitions and business operations. Previously, she was the chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance at Smiths Medical. She also served as the vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer at Valspar, where she oversaw transformation of the global accounting, external reporting, enterprise reporting and shared services functions. She has held financial management positions at Lawson Software, International Multifoods, The Pillsbury Company (Diageo) and Coca-Cola Enterprises. She received her bachelor’s degree in economics and Asian studies from St. Olaf College and her MBA in finance from the University of Minnesota.

Ms. McCormick volunteers her time as a commissioner and prior chair for the City of Edina Parks and Recreation Commission and as a member of the St. Olaf Alumni Board.

In 2015, Ms. McCormick was recognized as a Top Women in Finance Honoree by the publication Finance and Commerce

Ms. McCormick is married and has two children. Her interests include running, exploring the national parks with her family, and attending her kids’ many activities.
