Chief, Heart Center & Chief, Cardiothoracic Surgery at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

Paul Chai is the current Chief of the Heart Center and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Paul has been in this position since May of 2019. Prior to that, they were a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgeon at Columbia University Medical Center from January of 2013 to May of 2019. Before that, they were a Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon at All Children's Hospital from January of 2004 to December of 2013.

Paul Chai attended Duke University for both their undergraduate and medical degrees. Paul earned a Bachelor of Science degree before completing their Doctor of Medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine.

They work with Daniel Salinas - Chief of Community Clinical Integration, Clinton Joiner - Chief Research Officer, and Rene Romero - System Medical Director, Transplant. Paul Chai reports to Donna W. Hyland, President & CEO.
