Kathleen Hinkley has a diverse range of work experience in the field of development and fundraising. Kathleen began their career as an Accounting Assistant at The Duck Company from 2004 to 2006. Kathleen then worked as the Executive Director for Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan, where they fundraised over $425,000 and led the organization to receive an award for Outstanding Student Organization. Kathleen then transitioned to the University of Michigan Health System as a Development Coordinator, responsible for assisting with development programs in the Department of Neurology. Kathleen also took on the role of U-M Development Summer Intern, where they helped organize conferences and learned about careers in philanthropy. After that, Kathleen worked at the University of Michigan as a College Connections Coordinator, conducting interviews with alumni to gather feedback and improve curriculum offerings. Kathleen then became the Manager of the College Connections Program, leading a team and creating strategic engagement opportunities within the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Kathleen moved on to the University of Wisconsin Foundation as the Director of Development, connecting with alumni, friends, and donors to enhance support for the University of Wisconsin Law School. Currently, they are with Children's Wisconsin, where they have held multiple roles, including Director of Development, Grateful Family Philanthropy Officer, Principal Gift Program Manager, and their current position as Director of Principal Gifts & Strategic Initiatives. In this role, they manage the Principal Gift Program portfolio and oversees fundraising activities for key leaders at Children's Wisconsin.

Kathleen Hinkley attended Mullen High School from 2002 to 2006. Kathleen then continued their education at the University of Michigan from 2006 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Brain Behavior and Cognitive Science.
