Meera Chitlur

Director, Special Coagulation Laboratory at Children's Hospital of Michigan

Meera Chitlur's work experience includes positions at various academic institutions and hospitals. Meera is currently a Professor of Pediatrics at Central Michigan University College of Medicine since August 2020. Prior to that, they held the same role at Wayne State University School of Medicine starting in April 2016. Meera also served as the Barnhart-Lusher Hemostasis Research Endowed Chair and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Wayne State University from July 2013 to April 2016. Additionally, they were an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University from September 2005 to June 2011. In 2011, they became the Director of the Hemophilia Treatment Center and Hemostasis Program, as well as the Director of the Special Coagulation Laboratory at Children's Hospital of Michigan. Meera began their career as a Staff Pediatrician at Mount Clemens General Hospital from August 1997 to December 2000.

Meera Chitlur completed their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology from KIMS, Bangalore University from 1986 to 1992. Meera then pursued a Pediatrics Residency Program at Henry Ford Hospital from 1994 to 1997. Meera later undertook a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program at Wayne State University from 2001 to 2005. In addition, they also received the Aventis Behring Fellowship in Coagulation/Hemostasis from Wayne State University in 2004.
