Valerie Montoya

Valerie Montoya is a seasoned professional in the field of privacy and civil rights, currently serving as a Senior Privacy Analyst at Children's Health since February 2022, focusing on HIPAA investigations. Previously, Montoya worked for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office for Civil Rights from April 2005 to October 2021, where responsibilities included serving as an Equal Opportunity Specialist and conducting investigations related to the Privacy Rule, Security Rule, Breach Notification Rule, and Civil Rights violations. Earlier in the career, Montoya held the position of Research Assistant, providing technical assistance and preparing investigative documentation. Montoya holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences in Human Services from the University of North Texas and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Walden University.
