Allison Gardner

Vice President, Clinical Operations at Children's Mercy Kansas City

Allison Gardner, DNP, RN, NE-BC, CPN has extensive work experience in various roles in the healthcare industry. Allison started their career as a Staff Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse at Children's Mercy Kansas City in 2000 before moving on to become an Education Coordinator in 2002. From 2004 to 2005, they worked as a Clinical Instructor, supervising students in the clinical setting. Allison then became a Nurse Manager at the Kidney Center from 2005 to 2008, where they oversaw day-to-day operations and improved access to care. Allison also served as a Service Line Director from 2008 to 2015 and as a Director in the Contact Center in 2015. From 2016 to 2020, Allison worked as a Senior Director of Ambulatory Services and was responsible for financial and resource management. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Clinical Operations, where they collaborate with colleagues to improve processes and empower the team. In addition to their work at Children's Mercy, Allison also worked as an Adjunct Faculty at UMKC from 2007 to 2015, supervising students, coordinating clinicals, and teaching drug calculations and pediatrics.

Allison Gardner, DNP, RN, NE-BC, CPN completed their education with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Nursing Leadership and Healthcare Innovations from the University of Missouri from 2014 to 2017. Prior to this, they earned a Master's of Science degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Missouri Kansas City from 2002 to 2005. Allison Gardner also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, which they obtained from Pittsburg State University between 1996 and 2000. Allison attended Prairie View from 1990 to 2000, although their degree and field of study during this time are unknown. Additionally, they have gained certifications including Nurse Executive - Board Certified (obtained in 2011 from ANCC), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (obtained in 2010 from JCCC), and Certified Pediatric Nurse (obtained in 2004 from PNCB).
