Mark Hoffman

Mark Hoffman has extensive work experience in the fields of healthcare informatics and research. Mark worked at Children's Mercy Hospital as the Chief Research Information Officer (CRIO) and as the Director of Translational Bioinformatics. At the University of Missouri-Kansas City, they held various positions including Professor of Pediatrics, Professor of Biomedical and Health Informatics, Associate Professor of Biomedical and Health Informatics, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and Assistant Dean of Educational Innovation. Mark also served as the Director of the Center for Health Insights, where they provided informatics and technology resources to the biomedical research community. Additionally, they worked at Cerner as a Vice President, leading a team focused on genomics, clinical trials, and evidence-based medicine analysis. Prior to that, they worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the National Animal Disease Center and as a Bioinformatics Intern at DNASTAR. Mark is currently a Research Professor (Volunteer) in Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Mark Hoffman received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Oxbridge - Molecular Biology from William Jewell College in 1991. Mark then went on to pursue their Ph.D. in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they completed in 1996. In 1990, they also briefly studied Bioethics and Political Science at the University of Oxford.
