Sarah McManus Christie has a diverse work experience in the field of education and art. Sarah started their career as a Museum Associate at the Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus in 2016. From there, they progressed to roles such as Public Programs Reservation Specialist, School Programs Reservation Specialist, and School Programs Manager, where they led a team of professional Museum Educators and oversaw the development, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of all school programs.

In 2019, Sarah became the Senior Manager of Education, responsible for leading a team of Museum Educators and Operations Coordinators. Sarah oversaw the development and evaluation of school programs, exhibit operations, and the internal staff leadership program. During their time in this role, Sarah demonstrated a commitment to excellence and developmentally appropriate practice.

In 2020, they were promoted to Associate Director of Education, continuing their leadership and strategic oversight of the Education Department. Sarah then served as the Interim Director of Education from 2021 to 2022, where they defined and achieved the Museum's educational vision and provided strategic leadership. Currently, Sarah holds the position of Director of Education, where they uphold the diversity commitment of the organization and works actively within the Denver early childhood and cultural communities.

Outside of their work at the Children's Museum of Denver, Sarah also gained experience as an Art Teacher at Young Rembrandts Franchise from 2014 to 2016, and as a Business Owner at Rocky Mountain Sitters, LLC from 2014 to the present.

Sarah McManus Christie completed their high school education at Whitefish Bay High School from 2003 to 2007. Sarah then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Teacher Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, graduating in 2011. In 2019, Sarah enrolled at the University of Colorado Denver for the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program, specializing in Early Childhood Education and Teaching. Sarah completed this program in 2020. Sarah continued their education at the same university, earning a Master's degree in Innovative Early Childhood Education from 2020 to 2022.
