RB (Robert B) Harrison is recently retired from Macy’s Inc after a 33 year career at Macy’s and May Dept Stores. He retired as the Chief Operations Officer of Macy’s Inc. RB was responsible for all aspects of Logistics, Small ticket, Big ticket and Direct to Consumer product movement. He was also responsible for Macy’s Credit and customer service team and managing the Credit portfolio with Citibank. In stores he had responsibility for Asset Protection, Operations, Facilities and Store Design and Construction. Prior to the COO role, RB was the Chief Omnichannel Officer and was responsible for the development of strategies to integrate the Macy’s stores, Mobile and Online businesses. In this role he had responsibility for Logistics, Technology, Product Management, Strategic Inventory placement and Online sales growth. Prior to the NYC roles, RB was the President of Stores responsible for approximately 40% of the Macy’s fleet at the time. That was preceded by the roles of President and Operating Principal of various operating divisions including Macy’s West, Macy’s Northwest and Robinson-May of the May Dept Stores. His earlier career was various financial and operational roles inclusive of SVP Finance- CFO for Meier and Frank as well as Robinsons-May. RB began his career at Kaufmann’s Dept Store of Pittsburgh in 1986.
RB has previously served on the Deming Center advisory board at New York’s Columbia school of business and on the Board of Governors of GS1-USA (Global language of Business).
A native of Pittsburgh, PA RB holds a degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the Katz School of Business University of Pittsburgh. RB received the distinguished alumni award from Katz in 2017.
