Shonette Palmer

Education Specialist at The Children's Village

Shonette Palmer has a strong background in education and working with children. Shonette began their career in 2005 as a School Assistant with the Board of Education. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Teacher's Assistant at Green Dot Charter High School. In 2013, they moved on to BronxWorks, where they continued working as a Teacher's Assistant until 2016. Since 2016, Shonette has been with The Children's Village, where they have held various roles including Case Worker, Behavior Specialist, and currently, Education Specialist.

Shonette Palmer completed their education in a chronological manner. Shonette first attended CUNY Hostos Community College from 2007 to 2010, where they pursued a degree in Early Childhood Education. Shonette then enrolled at City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College, where they studied Sociology from 2020 to 2022, earning a degree in Sociology.

In terms of further education, Shonette Palmer plans to pursue a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at Hunter College, starting in 2022. Shonette is also working towards obtaining a Master's degree in Social Work from the same institution.

Additionally, in March 2018, Shonette obtained a certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, although the institution providing this certification is unspecified.
