Deann Pifer

Deann Pifer has held various roles in the healthcare industry throughout their career. Deann started in 1992 at St. Mary's Hospital, where they worked as a Charge Medical Technologist and Apheresis Lead/Blood Bank technician. In this position, they supervised workflow, managed conflicts, and ensured quality control in the laboratory.

In 1997, Deann joined Clarke County Hospital as the Laboratory Services Manager. Deann oversaw all aspects of clinical laboratory operations, including customer service, budgeting, staffing, research and development, and quality assurance.

In 1999, they moved to Iowa Health Des Moines as the Manager of the Pathology Laboratory. Deann'sresponsibilities included managing the operations of an independent reference laboratory and coordinating between the clinical laboratory and pathology group.

In 2006, Deann joined The Iowa Clinic, P.C. as the Administrative Director of the Surgical Services Division. In this role, they directed a diverse team of providers and managed multiple departments, locations, and outreach clinics. Deann was responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Most recently, Deann has been working at ChildServe since 2015. Deann initially served as the Director of Outpatient Services, overseeing a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic. This clinic provided various services to children with special healthcare needs. Since September 2021, they have been the Vice President of Outpatient Services at ChildServe.
