Kate Holbrook has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Kate started their career in 2013 as a Summer Camp Counselor at Inspiration Hills Summer Camp & Retreat Center, where they attended to the basic needs of children and facilitated team-building activities. In 2014, they worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the Child Development Lab School at Iowa State University and as an Outpatient Rehab Tech at ChildServe.
In 2015, Kate returned to Inspiration Hills as a Wilderness Camp Coordinator, responsible for planning camp activities and mentoring counselors. Kate then joined the South Dakota Board of Regents in 2016 as an SD LEND Program Trainee.
In 2017, Kate participated in Level II Fieldwork as an Occupational Therapy Student at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital and Lowcountry Therapy Center. Kate continued their work in the field by becoming a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and later a Clinical Team Lead at ChildServe in 2018.
Most recently, in 2022, Kate joined Pearson as a Field Research Examiner. With a background in occupational therapy and experience working with children, Kate's work history demonstrates a passion for helping others and a dedication to their field.
Kate Holbrook holds a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree from the University of South Dakota, which they obtained from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Kinesiology & Health at Iowa State University from 2012 to 2015. Kate'seducation journey started with general education courses at Iowa Lakes Community College from 2010 to 2012. In addition to their formal education, Kate has obtained various certifications such as Heartsaver First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Occupational Therapist Registered.
