Tanzina Huq, PhD has a diverse range of work experience. Tanzina is currently the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Chinova Bioworks, where they are leading the development of a natural preservative made from mushroom chitosan for use in clean label products such as food, beverages, and cosmetics. At Chinova Bioworks, they have been instrumental in formulating this ingredient to effectively combat spoilage microorganisms, making it a crucial component in the success and sustainability of clean label products.

Prior to their role at Chinova Bioworks, Dr. Huq worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of New Brunswick from 2017 to 2019. Tanzina also served as the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at Mycodev Group for a brief period in 2016.

Dr. Huq's academic research experience includes their role as a PhD Research Fellow at Université INRS from 2010 to 2014, where they likely focused on their doctoral studies. Tanzina also gained research experience as an MS Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission from 2009 to 2010.

Tanzina Huq, PhD, obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biology, General from Université du Québec - Institut national de la recherche scientifique in the years 2010-2014. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the University of Dhaka between 2008 and 2010. Before their master's degree, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology from the University of Dhaka, which they completed from 2003 to 2008.

In addition to their academic credentials, Tanzina Huq has obtained various certifications throughout their career. Tanzina has completed the Mitacs Project and Time Management as well as Mitacs Research and Development Management programs from Mitacs in August 2022. In September 2018, they became certified as a Lean Six Sigma White Belt from the Management and Strategy Institute. Tanzina also completed the Foundations of Everyday Leadership program from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in August 2018 and the Fundamentals of Project Planning and Management course from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in June 2018. Additionally, they have obtained the designation of Biosafety Officer of Chinova Bioworks Inc. from the Public Health Agency of Canada | Agence de la santé publique du Canada in September 2018.
