Aaron Landwehr

Senior Research Engineer at Chip Design Systems Inc.

Aaron Landwehr has a diverse work experience in various research and development roles. Aaron worked as a Senior Research Engineer and Lead Software Engineer at CHIP DESIGN SYSTEMS LLC, where they conducted research and development for Infrared LED Scene Projector Systems, oversaw software engineering and development efforts, and developed and maintained software infrastructure and firmware for IRLED Scene Projector systems. Prior to that, they worked at the University of Delaware as a Limited Term Researcher, Graduate Research Assistant, and Senior Research Assistant, where they developed novel Packetized Display Protocol (PDP) architecture for IRLED Scene Projector systems, integrated, developed and tested next-generation IRLED systems, and implemented energy-avoiding matrix multiplication algorithms using energy-efficient tiling for future many-core architectures. Aaron also worked as a Research Intern at ET International, Inc, where they worked with high-performance parallel runtime systems to facilitate the development of next-generation HPC applications, benchmarked containment domain-based resiliency within the dynamic adaptive SWARM runtime machine, and demonstrated containment domain-based resiliency as an applicable extension to the codelet model. Additionally, they worked as a Research Intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where they investigated novel runtime systems for running physics applications on HPC systems, developed parallel molecular dynamics code using the Open Community Runtime (OCR) and studied the usability of OCR for certain classes of algorithms and data structures. Lastly, they worked as a Developer for Miranda-IM, where they worked with and analyzed TCP/IP Layer 5 Protocols, contributed and worked within a team-oriented environment, and solely developed the AimOSCAR instant messenger protocol plugin for Miranda-IM.

Aaron Landwehr earned a High School Diploma from Elkton High School in 2005. Before that, they attended Colonial Heights High School from 2001 to 2003. In 2004, they briefly studied Philosophy at Cecil College. In 2005, they also took some courses in Electrical Engineering at Delaware Technical Community College. Aaron then pursued their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Delaware from 2006 to 2010. After that, they completed their Masters of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (M.S.E.C.E.) at the University of Delaware from 2010 to 2016. Aaron further continued their education at the same university and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2020.
