GM, Planning & Estimates at Chittagong Dry Dock Limited-Bangladesh Navy

Captain Mohammad Hanif Mahmood, (E), psc, BN was permanently commissioned in Bangladesh Navy (BN) in January 1998 in Engineering Branch.

He has undergone different courses at home and abroad besides the traditional naval courses. Notably, he obtained BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology and is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur. He did Marine Engineering Specialization Course in Engineering School at BNS SHAHEED MOAZZAM. He is also trained on naval weapon-related subjects from abroad.

During his long service career, he served onboard various naval ships and Frigates including BNS BANGABANDHU and BNS OSMAN as Senior Engineer Officer and Engineer Officer. He took part in overseas goodwill missions by BN ships. He served in Bangladesh Coast Guard in a number of appointments including the Project Director of Govt development project.

Inshore duties he served in Naval Headquarters, Operational Sea Training Guide, and Commodore Superintendent Dockyard Organization, etc. As DGM (Ship Repair) in CSD organization, which is the ship repair authority of BN, he was involved in executing refit activities of more than a dozen of ships and frigates. He is a contributor to United Nations Peacekeeping Operations in D R Congo as Military Observer. His last appointment was in Inter Services Selection Board as Deputy President.

At present, Captain Mohammad Hanif Mahmood is serving as the General Manager (Planning & Estimates) at Chittagong Dry Dock Ltd and putting all-out effort to contribute to reforming CDDL an efficient commercial organization in the global environment.
