David Major

David Major is an experienced professional in real estate development, currently serving as AVP of Development at Choice Properties REIT since June 2017. In this role, David manages the development approvals program in Western Canada, focusing on retail intensification and the redevelopment of underperforming assets. David has overseen over 515,000 square feet of new retail development and has plans for an additional 50,000 to 75,000 square feet in the next two years. Prior positions at Choice Properties included Director of Development and Senior Manager of Real Estate Development, where responsibilities included managing land use approvals and overseeing mixed-use project development. David's career in real estate began at SmartCentres as Land Development Manager and also included a role as Market Analyst at Cushman and Wakefield. David holds a Master's degree in Urban Planning and Real Estate Development from the University of Washington, alongside relevant certifications and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Queen's University.
