Aravind Ravi has a wealth of experience in software development and biosignal research. Aravind started their career in 2013 as a Student Internship at Creative Buds. In 2016, they joined Wipro Limited as a Project Engineer (Software Development) and Intern. In 2018, they became a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Waterloo, and a Graduate Student Researcher at the Waterloo Engineering Bionics Lab (eBionics). Aravind's research contributions included developing a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and a channel selection algorithm for SSVEP BCI, and they wrote a Masters Thesis on Enhancing the Decoding Performance of Steady-State Visual Evoked Potentials (SSVEP) Based Brain-Computer Interface (BCI). In 2019, they joined Muse® by Interaxon Inc. as a Biosignal Research Engineer.
Aravind Ravi completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University between 2012 and 2016. Aravind then obtained a Master of Applied Science (MASc.) in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2019. In 2020, Aravind began a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Systems Design Engineering - Biomedical Engineering Field at the University of Waterloo. Aravind has also obtained several certifications from deeplearning.ai and Coursera, including "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization", "Structuring Machine Learning Projects", "Neural Networks and Deep Learning", "Machine Learning - Stanford University", "A Crash Course in Data Science", and "Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python)".
