John Pitchko

John Pitchko has a long and varied work experience, beginning with their role as Senior Engineering Manager at Shell from 2005-2022. During this time, they developed software solutions and oversaw IT projects for Shell's retail and oil sands businesses, as well as leading the delivery of over 20 global mobile and cloud IT implementation projects.

In 2016, John began freelancing as a developer for Pitchko Technology Inc., performing full-stack software development and hosting for small businesses.

In 2018, John was appointed Associate Dean at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), where they managed the delivery of post-secondary credit and non-credit education programs. During their time in this role, they grew enrolment and increased revenue in the school more than 100%.

In 2020, John joined Wingman Tracker as a Senior Software Engineer, coding new features, analyzing and resolving bugs, and supporting customers through on-boarding and use of the product.

In 2021, John began working at SureSwift Capital as an Engineering Manager and Lead Software Engineer, leading a global engineering team for development of fin-tech software.

John is currently working at Chord as an Engineering Manager and Senior Software Engineer, leading a team of global frontend and backend engineers and collaborating with product management and customer success teams.

John Pitchko has a diverse educational background. John obtained a Master in Business Administration from the University of Calgary between 2011 and 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Computer Science and a Certificate in Economics from the University of Regina between 2000 and 2005. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Udemy in November 2021, Strategic Planning Foundations from LinkedIn in September 2020, The Practice of Coaching: An Introduction to Positioning Others from Roy Group in October 2017, Lean Practitioner in October 2013, Inbound Sales Certification from HubSpot Academy in June 2017, Hubspot Inbound Certification from HubSpot Academy in May 2017, Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute in June 2010, and Google Analytics Certification from Google in July 2017.
