Ahmed Syed

Ahmed Syed is an experienced Data Engineer currently serving as Data Engineer II at Chord Energy since October 2025. Previously, Ahmed held the role of Data Engineer at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company from July 2023 to August 2025, specializing in Databricks, Spark, Azure, Python, and SQL. Ahmed co-founded Cougar AI, the first Data Science and AI student organization at the University of Houston, where Ahmed also served as President from August 2022 to June 2023. Earlier experiences include a Data Intelligence Internship at DocuSign, focusing on NLP and SQL, and a Data Science Internship at Genmab, where Ahmed developed a data pipeline using Databricks and Spark. As a Data Science Researcher at the UH Data Analysis & Intelligence Systems Lab, Ahmed analyzed COVID-19 data, and participated in the HP Summer Scholars Program, enhancing skills in business analytics. Currently pursuing a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Mathematics from UC San Diego Extended Studies, Ahmed's educational background includes studies at the University of Houston and Cypress Falls High School.
