Colin Copp was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Chorus Aviation and President, Chorus Aviation Services in March of 2019. He is the lead executive responsible for Chorus’ relationship with Air Canada and oversees all Chorus aviation services with the exception of Chorus Aviation Capital. Both the President of Jazz and Voyageur report directly to Colin and he is responsible for leading the development of new commercial opportunities to grow the operating businesses and related contract flying, parts provisioning and maintenance functions.
His background includes over 30 years of leadership experience in operations, administration and labour relations with the Company and has held several key leadership roles. During his career he has guided a distinct blend of leading large operational teams, leading complex multi-stakeholder negotiations and managed change initiatives with cross-functional teams to transition the business.
Prior to his current role he was the President of Jazz Aviation, leading one of Canada’s largest domestic airlines operating 700-plus flights a day, with a fleet of 120 aircraft and approximately 5,000 employees throughout North America. Previously, he was the Chief Administrative Officer for Jazz, overseeing Labour Relations and Crew Resources Planning, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations, Business Systems Integration and Development, Information Technology and Communications Systems, Human Resources, and the Payroll, Pension and Benefits Administration departments.
Prior to the merger of the regional airlines in 2000, he was the Vice President of Flight Operations at AirBC responsible for Flight Operations, Flight Dispatch, Crew Planning, Crew Scheduling, Flight Safety and the Regulatory Affairs departments.
Colin holds a commercial multi-engine pilot license and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is a certified negotiator and mediator, graduate of the Justice Institute of British Columbia (Cert. Con Res), as well as Chartered Mediator by the ADR Institute (C. Med). Additionally, Colin is a graduate of the Directors Education Program and an Accredited Corporate Director from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D).
Colin is a Board Member of the Air Transport Association of Canada and the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada.
