Blair Rutherfurd

Blair Rutherfurd has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies in different industries. Starting in 1991, they worked as a Technician at Telecom New Zealand for eight years. Blair then moved on to TelstraClear in 1999, where they worked in Network Services Installation. In 2000, Blair returned to Telecom New Zealand as a Team Leader in the Southern Cross Cable Network Operations Centre (SNOC). Blair led a team of 10 network controllers and managed the network on a 24/7 basis. In 2005, they became the Team Leader of Technical Support in the SNOC, responsible for providing tier 2 technical support and writing technical documentation.

In 2008, Blair joined BiraTech Ltd as the CEO and Managing Director until 2010. Blair then worked at Pauseplay as a Co-Owner from 2009 to 2011. In 2010, they also served as the Chairperson Support Committee for Air Training Corp No. 5 Squadron until 2012.

Blair joined ITL Technologies in 2010 as the Operations Manager, where they managed 25 operations staff and up to 5 contracted staff. Blair oversaw the installation, maintenance, support, and servicing of various infrastructure systems. Blair implemented projects such as the Eden Park upgrade, where they installed data cabling and fiber cables. In 2011, Blair joined BP as an Assistant Manager at BP Connect, Dairy Flat.

Finally, in 2012, Blair joined Chorus NZ Limited. Blair started as a Complex Provisioning Specialist, working until 2015. In this role, they handled complex provisioning tasks. Blair then transitioned into the role of a Customer Project Manager from 2015 to 2016. Currently, Blair works as a Data and Analytics Reporting Specialist, where they build and maintains Oracle OBIEE reports, automates manual tasks, and learns Tableau and Power BI for data visualizations in other analytics applications.

Blair Rutherfurd completed a Telecommunications Certificate from Auckland University of Technology, starting in 1987 and finishing in 1991. Prior to that, Blair attended Westlake Boys high School from 1982 to 1986. Before high school, Blair attended Takapuna Normal Intermediate School from 1980 to 1981. In terms of additional certifications, Blair obtained a certification in "Scrum: The Basics" from LinkedIn in October 2022.
