Saskia van Rijk has gained a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Saskia started their career as an Advertising and Sales Coordinator at The Dominion Post in February 2013. Later that year, they worked as a Volunteer Intern in Script Development at The Gibson Group from October 2013 to April 2014. In 2014, Saskia worked as a Project Administrator for the Functions and Resource Project at WorkSafe New Zealand for a period of two months. From 2015 to 2017, they worked at the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, first as a Marketing Communications Assistant and then as a Marketing Executive. Saskia then moved to Toronto and joined the Toronto International Film Festival as a Red Carpet Representative for a short period in 2017. In 2018, they worked at Luminato, first as a Marketing and Communications Coordinator from January to July, and then as a Marketing Manager from August 2018 to July 2019. In 2019, Saskia became the Volunteer Manager at Cork Film Festival until June 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Project Manager in Regulatory Planning & Delivery at Chorus NZ Limited, starting in June 2020.

Saskia van Rijk began their education journey in 2010 at Victoria University of Wellington, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Film/Media Studies/Creative Writing. Saskia completed their undergraduate studies in 2013. In 2019, Saskia enrolled at Griffith College Cork for a short period and obtained a Project Management Diploma specializing in Project Management.
