Tim Downey has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations. Tim is currently serving as the Senior Director of Campuses and Outreach at Christ Community Church, a position they started in December 2021. Prior to this, from 2005 to 2022, they worked at Moody Bible Institute in various roles, including Program Head for the First Year Experience and Associate Professor. Tim also served as the Executive Director at Cutting Edge Ministries from 1998 to 2014, where they provided coaching and consulting to pastors and trained them internationally. Tim also held the position of Student Ministries Director and Singles Director at Christ Community Church from 2006 to 2011, overseeing a team and coaching small group leaders. Before that, from 1999 to 2004, they were an Associate Pastor at North Tahoe Community Church, where they launched the Student Ministry and established mission trips. Tim's career started in 1993 as the National Director of Reach Out Youth Solutions, where they worked on the incorporation of a non-profit organization, trained church leaders, and developed curriculum materials for strategic ministry.
Tim Downey has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Education from The University of Memphis. Additionally, they hold a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Religion and Education from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.

Christ Community Church
Beginning with a group of six families in 1984, Christ Community Church has grown to over 5000 weekend attenders, including our DeKalb Campus in DeKalb County, our Aurora Campus in southern Kane County, and our Streamwood Campus in Cook County. A significant focus on reaching spiritually lost people has resulted in over 200 new believers being baptized each year. Christ Community had humble beginnings with services held in a rented movie theater. Weekly activities now take place in our 100,000 square foot St. Charles Campus with weekend celebration services held in our 2000 seat auditorium. Jim Nicodem has been the senior pastor of Christ Community Church since its birth in 1984. Born and raised in the Midwest, Jim received his BA from Wheaton College, and his MDiv and DMin from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Jim is passionate about prayer and is the author of Prayer Coach, For All Who Want to Get Off the Bench and Onto the Praying Field.
