Joseph Welsh

Joseph Welsh currently serves as the Associate Director of Residence Life at Christopher Newport University since July 2022. Prior to this role, Joseph gained extensive experience at Virginia Tech, holding positions as Academic Advisor for the Pamplin College of Business and Residential Learning Coordinator from July 2015 to July 2022. Earlier roles include Graduate Community Director at Clemson University from July 2013 to May 2015, as well as a Learning and Development Intern at Nipissing University during the summer of 2014. Joseph’s career began at the University of South Carolina, where responsibilities included Residential Program Director, Resident Mentor, and Leadership and Staff Development Intern between August 2010 and July 2013. Joseph holds a Master of Education in Counselor Education (Student Affairs) from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Science in International Business, Human Resource Management, and French from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business.
