Darren Wake

Darren Wake has an extensive work history spanning several industries. Darren currently serves as a Non Executive Director at Chromatwist since February 2021 and a Lead Angel Investor at Vision Angel since November 2020. Prior to that, they held the position of Trustee at Snowdrop Project starting in December 2019 and worked as a Volunteer ESOL Teacher at SAVTE starting in April 2019. Before their involvement in the social sector, they worked in finance-related roles at Horizons Finance and CPL Industries. At CPL Industries, they served as the CFO from October 2007 to September 2018, the Finance Director CPL Petroleum from September 2004 to September 2007, and the Deputy Group Finance Director from January 2002 to September 2004. Prior to joining CPL Industries, they worked as the Finance Director at Broxtowe College from January 2000 to December 2001. Darren'searly career included positions at Invensys, where they served as a Finance Controller in the Northern Europe Batteries Division from July 1995 to December 1999 and as part of the Internal Audit team from June 1993 to June 1995. Darren began their career as a Factory Accountant at Boots Contract Manufacturing from September 1990 to May 1993.

Darren Wake attended Loughborough University from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Manufacturing Engineering & Management. Additionally, they obtained the ACMA certification from the CIMA institution in 1993.
