Marti Macchi

Marti Macchi, MEd., MPH has a strong background in public health, with significant experience in both program strategy and directing special studies. Marti currently serves as the Chief Program Strategy Officer at the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD), a position they have held since January 2022. Prior to this role, Marti worked for over a decade at NACDD as the Senior Director of Programs.

Before joining NACDD, Marti held a leadership position at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, where they served as the Director of Special Studies from January 2006 to February 2011. Marti'swork at the department involved conducting and overseeing important studies related to public health.

Marti Macchi holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree in Public Health Leadership from the University of Illinois Chicago. Marti completed their doctoral studies in 2020. Prior to their doctoral degree, they earned a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which they obtained between 2009 and 2012. Earlier in their educational journey, Marti Macchi pursued a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from Wichita State University, completing the program from 1996 to 1998. Furthermore, they hold a Bachelor's Degree from UC Santa Barbara, where they majored in Psychology, Sociology, and Communications between 1985 and 1988.
