Montia M. has diverse work experience in various roles within the field of mental health and counseling. Montia started their career in 2002 as a Counseling Intern at the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, where they provided counseling to juvenile offenders. Montia then worked as an Outreach Member at Communities in Schools of Bradford County, Inc., educating the community about child abuse and domestic violence.

In 2004, Montia joined CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services, Inc. as an Addictions Counselor and later became a Counselor, providing individual, group, and family counseling to families with behavioral problems. Montia also worked as an Associate Director at the University of Florida's Upward Bound Program, overseeing recruitment and training of teachers and counselors to support low-income high school students.

From 2012 to 2013, Montia served as a Program Director at the Henry & Rilla White Youth Foundation, Inc., supervising therapists providing Multi-Systemic Therapy to at-risk youth. Montia also managed a psychosocial rehabilitation program for adults with severe mental illnesses.

Montia continued their career at various organizations, including Children's Home Society of Florida, Florida Mentor, Sequel Youth and Family Services, and SINFONIA FAMILY SERVICES OF FLORIDA, INC. In their roles, they provided clinical counseling services, supervised outpatient counseling programs, and served as a Team Leader in community action treatment teams.

Most recently, since 2020, Montia has been working at Chrysalis Health as a Team Leader/Program Director for the Community Action Treatment (CAT) Team.

Montia M. holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology, which was obtained from the University of Florida between 1995 and 1999. Montia further pursued their education at the same university and earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree and a Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) degree in Mental Health Counseling from 2002 to 2004. Additionally, they have obtained certifications including a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and a Qualified Supervisor certification from the State of Florida Department of Health.
