CHUANG Stage
Alison Qu is an accomplished theatre professional serving as the Associate Producer at HowlRound Theatre Commons since August 2022, where responsibilities include supporting the HowlRound Journal and various programs. As the Co-Founder and Executive Director of CHUANG Stage, a Boston-based translingual Asian American theatre company founded in 2018, Alison focuses on cultivating pan-Asian stories. Additionally, Alison manages events at the BCNC Pao Arts Center and previously worked as the Connectivity Producer for Company One Theatre, specifically on the Better Future Series and community-focused projects. Alison's experience also includes a fellowship at ArtsEmerson that involved community engagement initiatives and collaborations promoting Asian American arts. Alison holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Emerson College and furthered expertise through the National Theater Institute.

CHUANG Stage envisions a future in the American theatre moved forward by theatre artists and audiences of Asian descent through innovative productions that focus on the diverse language needs of the pan-Asian immigrant community. CHUANG Stage centers community and industry partnerships, advancing diversity accountability at collaborating institutions and uplifting engagement-based arts practices. Our flagship student theatre initiative at Emerson College, CHUANG Lab, advances the next generation of young Asian American theatre artists.
