Carl Bastien

Carl Bastien is an experienced finance professional with a robust background in trade finance and banking. Currently serving as the Director and Team Leader of Trade Finance Sales at CIBC since May 2012, Carl is responsible for overseeing the Trade Finance Sales activities for the Commercial Banking segment across Canada. Prior roles include leading Trade Finance activities in Eastern and Central Canada and working at various financial institutions such as HSBC Bank Canada, BNP Paribas, Scotiabank, and Societe Generale, where responsibilities spanned from trade sales to export finance. Carl is also a former member of the Export and International Trade Committee for Manufacturiers et exportateurs du Québec, which focused on enhancing solutions for the internationalization of Quebec businesses. Academic credentials include an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McGill University.
