Sarah Silliman has a diverse work experience spanning from 2003 to 2020. Sarah served as the Associate Director of Project Management at Columbia University in the City of New York starting from April 2020. Before that, they were the Associate Director of Grants Management at Columbia World Projects since July 2019. From 2012 to 2019, they worked at CAI (Cicatelli Associates Inc) where they held the position of Director of Development and Strategic Operations, contributing to generating $17 million in annual revenue and securing over $45 million in grant funding for various programs. Prior to that, they were the Director of Programs at Huairou Commission, managing program development, operations, and grant-making for a global coalition of women's networks and organizations. Sarah also held several roles within the organization, including Program Manager for Governance and Millennium Development Goal 3 Initiatives and Program Coordinator for the Governance Campaign. Sarah's work experience starts with their role as an Assistant Director of Antioch Education Abroad at Antioch College, where they managed undergraduate study abroad programs and developed pilot programs focused on sustainable development and environmental management.

Sarah Silliman has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from Antioch College, which they obtained in 2001. Sarah then pursued a Masters in International Affairs with a focus on Socio-Economic Development from The New School, which they completed in 2006. Sarah later engaged in continuing education at New York University, obtaining a degree from their Continuing Education program in 2015. Sarah has also obtained several certifications, including "Design Kit: The Course for Human-Centered Design" from NovoEd in May 2015, and multiple professional development courses from New York University, such as "Foundations of Philanthropy for Funders Professional Development Gold Standard Course" and "Organizational Development: Foundations Professional Development Gold Standard Course."
