Carrie Miller

Carrie Miller is a Senior Advisor at Ed Direction, Cicero Group’s K-12 Public Education practice. Since joining the Ed Direction team, Carrie has partnered with nearly 150 schools in Illinois, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, and Utah. Her work is focused on teacher efficacy as she assists principals and central office leaders in creating the conditions necessary for consistent student learning and growth. What gets her up in the morning? Purpose. Carrie is driven to make school more satisfying for students and teachers alike; she is up for the challenge.

Carrie infuses years of teaching and school leadership experience with ongoing research and her Six Sigma certification, to share reliable recommendations to school and district partners. Her experience is diverse, having taught thousands of students in a variety of school formats, including rural and urban, Title I, and independent schools. She has experience with a broad spectrum of student needs, ranging from developmental reading to Advanced Placement instruction. At her core, Carrie is a teacher’s teacher, proud to have received teaching awards from both a large suburban district in Colorado and a K-12 independent school in the pacific northwest. She has served in many leadership positions, notably as a Fellow for Aspiring School Leaders in 2008, where she honed her skills solving challenging problems related to student social and emotional development.

Carrie is pursuing her doctorate at Johns Hopkins University, where she’s exploring effective school transformation in schools serving Native American students. She earned a master’s degree in Education from Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. She holds bachelor’s degrees in English Literature from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, and French from the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France.
