Preetam Shah

Preetam Shah, Ph.D., MBA has an extensive work experience in various roles, primarily in the biotechnology and investment banking industries.

Preetam currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Business Officer at Cidara Therapeutics, a biotechnology company focused on developing long-acting compounds for the prevention and treatment of serious diseases.

Prior to joining Cidara Therapeutics, Preetam held the position of EVP, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer at Brainstorm Cell Therapeutics, where they contributed to the financial management of the company from 2019 to 2021.

Before their role at Brainstorm Cell Therapeutics, Preetam worked as a Director/Vice President in Healthcare Investment Banking at Barclays Investment Bank from 2016 to 2019. Preetam also served as a Vice President/Senior Associate in Life Sciences Investment Banking at Canaccord Genuity Group Inc. from 2013 to 2016.

Preetam has entrepreneurial experience as well, having founded and managed Saisarva LLC., a company focused on healthcare investments and capital management, from 2010 to 2013.

Earlier in their career, Preetam held various positions in sales, marketing, and business development at Strategene Corporation, Reliance Capital | Reliance Group, and VWR, part of Avantor.

Preetam started their professional journey as a Research Assistant at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and later worked as a Research Scientist/Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Preetam Shah holds a Ph.D. and an MBA, combining their scientific background with business expertise to contribute to the success of the organizations they work with.

Preetam Shah Ph.D., MBA has an extensive education history that spans various fields of study. Preetam obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a dual major in Mathematics and Biology from McDaniel College. Preetam then pursued further studies in the field of Microbiology and earned a Ph.D. degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Continuing their academic pursuits, Preetam completed a Post-Doctorate program in Infectious Diseases at Stanford University School of Medicine. Building upon their scientific background, they later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance from The Wharton School. In addition to their academic achievements, Preetam has obtained certifications in Common Sense Selling from the Whetstone Group Inc and Series 79 and Series 63 from FINRA.
