Dr. Iraida Loinaz serves as the Director of the CIDETEC Institute for Nanomedicine, where Dr. Iraida has been employed since January 2004. In addition to their directorial role, Dr. Loinaz also functions as the Business Development Manager in Biomaterials and leads the Biomaterials Unit at CIDETEC. As the principal researcher of the Biomaterials Group, Dr. Loinaz oversees a team of 13 specialists focused on the synthesis and characterization of biomaterials and biosurfaces, with research interests that include polymer nanoparticles for drug delivery, injectable gels for tissue engineering, and enhanced properties for medical devices. Dr. Loinaz's academic background includes an Executive MBA from Mondragon Unibertsitatea, a doctorate in Organic Chemistry from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, and various degrees in Chemistry from institutions including Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology and University of Bergen.
