Allan Assel

Allan Assel has extensive experience in business development and program capture within the defense and intelligence sectors. Currently serving at Ciena since August 2019 in Federal Business Development and Program Capture, Allan previously held positions at Juniper Networks as part of the National Security Group, and at QinetiQ North America as Director of NRO Technologies, where responsibilities included integrating company capabilities into the National Reconnaissance Office. Allan's career also includes over two decades with the U.S. Navy, culminating as a Naval Officer with qualifications as a Surface Warfare Officer and EA-6B Naval Flight Officer. Educational background includes a Master’s degree in International Studies and Strategic Relationships from the U.S. Naval War College, and a degree from the United States Naval Academy.
