Micheil McElvey has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Micheil began their career in 2009 with the United States Army, where they served as a First Lieutenant. During their time in the army, they attended basic training at Fort Jackson, SC, and completed the State OCS and Basic Officer Course at Fort. Micheil'smilitary service lasted until November 2016.

In 2015, McElvey transitioned to the brewing industry and joined Mastry's Brewing Co as a Head Brewer. Micheil held this position for four years, until November 2019.

Afterwards, McElvey moved on to Cigar City Brewing, where they first served as a Cellar Operator from December 2019 to April 2022. Micheil was then promoted to Cellar Manager in May 2022, and their tenure with this company is ongoing.

Additionally, Micheil McElvey has obtained a Professional Certificate in Brewing Arts from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. In March 2017, they also earned the Certified Cicerone® certification from the Cicerone® Certification Program.
