Alain Jalocha has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields. Alain worked as a senior scientist and project manager at CILAS, where they led a technical team in the development of nanometrology technologies and characterization systems for nanomaterials. Alain also served as a manager, overseeing administrative services and spearheading the establishment of a research and development unit for optical materials fabrication.
Prior to their time at CILAS, Jalocha worked at the University of Franche-Comté as a project manager, responsible for a research team and the development of an operational prototype for a reflection microscope. Alain also created a dedicated website to showcase the project's results.
Jalocha briefly worked at Fogale Nanotec, where they proposed optical sensor solutions for pipeline integrity monitoring, specifically for the TOTAL company.
At the Groupe de Physique Appliquée Biomédicale at the University of Geneva, Jalocha served as an assistant professor, teaching physics courses for medical and engineering students. Alain also taught surface characterization techniques at the Annecy Engineering School.
Jalocha's early career includes research positions at the University of Munich and the MESA Institute in Twente, where they conducted research as a researcher.
From 1989 to 1993, Alain Jalocha pursued a Ph.D in Instrumentation / Nanometrology at the Laboratoire d'Optique Duffieux, Université de Franche-Comté.
