Comfort Chirume has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Comfort started their career at AngloGold Ashanti as a Pharmacist Intern, where they gained experience in various pharmaceutical functions. During this time, they also completed a one-year diploma in Economics and public finance. Comfort then joined the Pharmaceutical Society of Zimbabwe as a Treasurer for the Mashonaland and Manicaland branch, where they managed the finances and assets of the branch and helped plan conferences and Continuing Education Meetings.

After that, Comfort joined Cimas Health Care as a Pharmacy Manager, where they played a key role in divisional strategy turnaround, divisional expansion, insurance product development, and the formation of the Pharmaceutics and Therapeutics Committee. Comfort also took part in the development and implementation of health clinics ICTs. Comfort worked in this role for over 10 years before transitioning to Cimas Medical Aid Society.
