Comfort Chirume

Comfort Chirume has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Comfort started their career at AngloGold Ashanti as a Pharmacist Intern, where they gained experience in various pharmaceutical functions. During this time, they also completed a one-year diploma in Economics and public finance. Comfort then joined the Pharmaceutical Society of Zimbabwe as a Treasurer for the Mashonaland and Manicaland branch, where they managed the finances and assets of the branch and helped plan conferences and Continuing Education Meetings.

After that, Comfort joined Cimas Health Care as a Pharmacy Manager, where they played a key role in divisional strategy turnaround, divisional expansion, insurance product development, and the formation of the Pharmaceutics and Therapeutics Committee. Comfort also took part in the development and implementation of health clinics ICTs. Comfort worked in this role for over 10 years before transitioning to Cimas Medical Aid Society.

At Cimas Medical Aid Society, Comfort held the position of Head of Pharmaceutical Services before progressing to become the Head of Cimas Distribution Centre. However, specific details about their responsibilities and accomplishments in these roles are not provided.

Comfort Chirume began their education at Rhodes University, where they completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from 2004 to 2008. Comfort then pursued a program in Economics and Public Finance at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 2009 to 2010. Chirume subsequently enrolled at North-West University/Noordwes-Universiteit, where they obtained a B Pharm Hons Degree in Pharmacy Administration and Pharmacy Policy and Regulatory Affairs in 2013. Finally, in 2013-2014, Chirume completed a Master's Degree in Health and Pharmacoeconomics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
