Jonathan Odhong

Jonathan Odhong is a highly experienced communications and outreach professional with a robust background in agricultural innovation and knowledge sharing. Currently serving as a Science for Impact Specialist at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) since September 2023, Jonathan develops studies aimed at enhancing the sustainable scaling of agricultural innovations in East and Southern Africa. Prior experience includes roles at CGIAR as Communications and Outreach Manager, where strategies were formulated to amplify impact across multiple countries, and at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), where Jonathan coordinated communications and knowledge sharing initiatives with significant budget oversight. Jonathan’s career also encompasses positions at ISAAA, African Population and Health Research Center, and African Union Development Agency-NEPAD, where responsibilities ranged from optimizing communications strategies to producing high-quality publications. Jonathan holds a Master's Degree in Communications Studies from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Media Technology from Maseno University.
