Rahel Assefa

Rahel Assefa is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project management and program operations across various organizations. Currently serving as the Regional Program Manager for Africa at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) since February 2016, Rahel leads donation funds and program operations, collaborating with government, private sector, and NGO partners to foster substantial growth initiatives. Previously, Rahel held roles as Regional Program and Project Manager at Adventist HealthCare, where key client relationships were developed, and as Project Manager at Cerner Corporation, responsible for managing project execution and team operations. Rahel's career began as the Application Development and Project Management Office Manager at Children's National Hospital, focusing on effective communication and operational alignment. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Information Technology Project Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a BS in Management Information Systems from Penn State University.
