Betsy Gerrein, DNP, PPCNP, APRN, NEA-BC has a strong and diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Betsy has worked at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center since 2008, starting as a Nurse Practitioner managing the daily care of pediatric patients on a large surgical service. In 2011, they became the APN Program Lead for the Division of Pediatric General & Thoracic Surgery, responsible for leading a team of 20 Nurse Practitioners. In 2014, they transitioned into the role of APRN Clinical Manager, overseeing the advanced practice nursing team. In 2018, they were promoted to Clinical Director, Adv. Practice Nurses, where they provided leadership and guidance to a team of 70 Advanced Practice Providers across 7 surgical Divisions. Prior to this, they worked at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center as a Clinical Manager, managing the Cardiology Clinic, the Echocardiography Lab, and the Fetal Echo Labs. Betsy also worked as a Registered Nurse II in the Echo Lab, providing sedation and managing patient care. Additionally, they have experience as an Assistant Director of Patient Care Services at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, where they managed all patient care services employees in a small, rural hospital. Betsy then went on to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the same university, graduating in 2007. In 2007, they also earned their Master of Science in Nursing from Northern Kentucky University. Betsy further pursued their education and obtained their Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Waynesburg University in 2013. Additionally, they hold various certifications, including Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, which they obtained in June 2019, and Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from ANCC, which they obtained in July 2018.
