David Orban

David Orban has a diverse work experience in the field of animal science and strategy. David started their career as an Animal Care Intern at Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in 2010. David then worked as a Zookeeper and Operations Intern at Zoo Miami in 2013. From 2011 to 2013, they served as a University Instructor at Michigan State University.

In 2014, David joined The Walt Disney Company as a Research Associate and later became a Science Manager in Disney's Animal, Science & Environment division. David'sresponsibilities included conducting various research studies on animal welfare, sensory environments, and parasite infection in giraffes. David also played a crucial role in developing educational courses, engaging with guests, and managing the Animal Research Lab.

David returned to Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in 2017 as an Animal Excellence Coordinator. David then progressed to the role of Animal Excellence Manager, where they focused on improving animal welfare through evidence-based strategies and training staff. In 2020, they were promoted to the position of Director of Animal Science & Strategy, leading the efforts to enhance animal welfare and visitor perception at the zoo.
