Matthew Christen

Matthew Christen has a diverse work experience in various roles. Matthew is currently working as a Staff Engineer at Cinder since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Architecture at searchable.ai from 2020 to 2022. In this role, they were responsible for building the initial MVP Desktop application and overseeing the hiring and development of the product engineering team.

Before that, Matthew worked as a Software Engineer at Umuse from 2016 to 2018. Matthew focused on DevOps and infrastructure engineering, primarily using AWS CloudFormation to build and manage container-based systems.

As a Co-Founder and CTO at OwnersCircle from 2015 to 2016, Matthew oversaw all technical operations and led the development effort to build web-based platforms. Matthew utilized Ruby on Rails for backend development and ReactJS for frontend development, building a marketplace for accredited investors and small business owners.

Matthew co-founded and served as CTO at Local Lift from 2013 to 2015, where they built the initial platform using Ruby on Rails and developed a custom CMS. With funding from ycombinator, they created a wizard-like tool for individual campaign page creation.

In their earlier career, Matthew worked as a Programmer and Trading Algorithm Analyst at Quantera Systems LLC from 2011 to 2014. Matthew developed a real-time algorithmic trading system using C++ and oversaw the implementation of the communication layer to various brokerages.

Matthew's experience also includes working as a Lead Programmer and Network Administrator at Boerner Trading LLC from 2005 to 2011. Here, they utilized C# and VBA to build an automated trading system and managed the hardware and software for a trading desk using Windows Active Directory.
