James Tate

James Tate is an embedded system security researcher currently serving as a Senior Embedded Reverse Engineer at Cipher Tech Solutions, Inc. and as an Embedded Reverse Engineer at a redacted company. Previously, they worked at Dynetics, Inc. as an Embedded Systems Security Researcher from 2015 to 2023, where they specialized in software and firmware reverse engineering, hardware reverse engineering, and the development of tools for vulnerability exploitation. James co-founded pISO, where they focused on hardware and firmware development, and assisted in various projects as a Research Assistant and Student Mentor during their time at Mississippi State University. They hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University and are pursuing a Master's degree in Information Security at Georgia Institute of Technology.
