Barry Wren

Barry Wren has over 24 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Currently, they serve as the Senior Director & South Africa CFO at Cipla South Africa since June 2023. Previously, they worked at Eli Lilly and Company as the CFO (SA & Sub-Saharan Africa) from April 2015 to July 2023. Before that, they were the Country Manager at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals from April 2013 to March 2015. From October 2008 to March 2013, they worked at Covidien, first as a Sales and Marketing Director and later as a Financial Director. Prior to Covidien, they worked at Hewlett-Packard as a Manager in Financial Planning Analysis & Reporting from July 2004 to June 2006. Barry also served as a Financial Manager at Tyco/Covidien from July 2002 to June 2004 and as an Assistant Manager in Transaction Services at Price Waterhouse Coopers from January 1999 to July 2002. Barry Wren started their education at Christian Brothers College from 1989 to 1994, where they completed their A Level studies in Economics, Mathematics, and English. After completing their A Levels, they attended Rhodes University from 1995 to 1998, obtaining a HDipAcc degree with a focus on Accounting, Taxation, and Commercial Law. In 1999, Barry enrolled at SAICA and completed the Qualifying Accounting Exam, earning the CA (SA) degree.
